A New Way of Seeing Things: Women’s Proposals for a More Equitable Society in Greater Solidarity
Women’s entry into public life has been a major event in history. It has caused an upheaval in dominant mindsets and highlighted a number of contradictions that are inherent to the organization of the social order. Women recommend that the dominant values of the patriarchal system be fundamentally questioned and condemned for their responsibility in excluding a greater part of humankind, in establishing the domination of the strong, and in the destruction of our planet.

Women’s entry into public life has been a major event in history. Through it, women have expressed their refusal of the private/public separation, a purely patriarchal social construction that, based on a biological vision of things, associates women with home life and men with public life. This entry has caused an upheaval in dominant thinking and highlighted a number of contradictions that are inherent to the organization of the social order.
Women have attempted to take a twofold approach, which is to consider themselves as subjects on the one hand and, on the other, to consider society with the critical eye that can be exercised as an oppressed person. Women recommend that the dominant values of the patriarchal system be fundamentally questioned and condemned for their responsibility in excluding the greater part of humanity, in establishing the domination of the strong, and in the destruction of our planet.
Far from being satisfied with changes that only benefit a few, they are calling for a radical transformation of relations among individuals and in the relations between people and their environment.
